Negril Beach promotes a laid-back lifestyle and carefree ambience more than any other in Jamaica or , perhaps even the Caribbean. Clean aquamarine turquoise waters, coral reefs, and a backdrop of palm trees and to the appeal. When you tire on the beach, you will find all sorts of Resorts, clubs, beach bars, open-air restaurants, and the like. Vendors hawk everything from cold Red Stripe beers to cooked Lobsters. In the spirit of the place, topless bathing is common along the entire stretch of the beach, although a small section near the Cosmo’s restaurant officially condones total nudity. Many of the big Resorts also have nude beaches.
If you want to escape from all the crowds, escape to Long Bay Beach Park at the far northern end of Negril Beach. Out beyond the Hotel belt, this stretch of Beach is set against a backdrop of picnic tables and changing rooms. Negril has many small properties. often family run that welcomes families, walking along the beach is also fun: stop and sample different restaurants for snacks and drinks. Some persons feel hassled by persistent vendors, but all you have to do is send a clear and polite signal that you are not interested.
We will first take you to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville which is on the beach where you can do some partying and have lunch, next we head to the world famous Ricks Cafe across town for thrills and adventure in cliff diving. For about thirty years Rick’s Cafe has proven to be an enduring icon on the landscape of Negril Jamaica. It came from meager beginnings back in 1974, this was a small upstart Cliffside haunt offering an alternative to negril’s majestic seven-mile beach.
For persons in a wheelchair who do not want to participate in the activities, there are platforms from which they can see all the activities both locations while siting in their wheelchair.
Growing into Negril’s premier gathering spot Rick’s Cafe has remained as such for over a quarter of a century. Some persons are so moved that they choose to leap off our 40 feet cliff above the blue crystal waters of the Caribbean sea. In doing so, they are taking part in something bigger than themselves. After these two invigorating experiences , we journey back along the north coast to your Cruise Ship Pier in Montego Bay. Be blessed with the gift of travelling back home with our friends in your memories, pictures, minds and hearts.
